Going to be printing up some shirts real soon. The long sleeved t-shirts will be good for when we ride, as they will keep the sun off our arms. The Polo shirt is a little dressier and probably won't have the large logo on the back.

<![CDATA[Westward ho!]]>Fri, 09 Aug 2013 00:19:51 GMThttp://nlriders.org/home/westward-hoWell during the course of having some great Bar-B-Q provided by chef Ralph, some of the guys and I were talking about next year's ride. North Carolina is beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves riding in those mountains and we can certainly do that again.
However, I was thinking of possibly a different destination, somewhere further west; WYOMING! I've never been to the mid-west and I've always wanted to see Yellowstone and perhaps even Montana. Riding in that environment will certainly create some unique memories and I'm sure the enjoyment factor will be pegged to the max.

If we did the ride out to the mid-west on our bikes, stopping every 100 miles or so for gas, it could be long and tiring. So I thought of another idea.

I've been working on a 1948 GMC COE and it is getting closer to being finished. I am in the process of making a car hauler out of it. There's an outfit in Kentucky that make custom beds for trucks like these and others. My intention is to have them make a bed for my truck and once finished, I'm pretty certain I can accommodate 6 to 8 bikes on the back plus, I can two another two bikes on my motorcycle trailer. The truck will look something like this when done:

This will make the journey out to Wyoming much quicker and safer, as we'll be less fatigued. This is just one destination idea we came up with, another was upstate New York and on to Niagra Falls. It's just a dream right now, but all great things start with a dream.

I've been riding motorcycles, on and off, since I was 15 years old; I've always enjoyed them. At the moment, I have several bikes, some in riding conditions and others in the process of being rebuilt. Currently my main bike is a 2008 Honda Goldwing, this is the one I purchased for long rides. The Goldwing is so comfortable and has a lot of features, which make the longer journeys more enjoyable.

Here's a picture of my bike with a Tailwind Trailer attached (I rarely ever take the trailer off).

The trailer is very aerodynamic, rides extremely smooth, and provides a lot of storage. In addition, it has a built-in air compressor and 12 volt charger. You can't feel it's back there when you're riding

It is my hope that the Lord will use this group, New Life Riders, to create life-long bonds of friendship and through these ties, reach out to others in the motorcycle community. I would love to see more brothers riding together, enjoying each others company, and spreading the "Good News" to other bikers.
